The Distributed Team Model

At icourts, the welfare of our team, clients and the wider community is our main concern. For that reason, from today we are working remotely, as a ‘distributed team’, operating and functioning as normal, just from different locations.  

 

It is otherwise business as usual for icourts. Our technology & systems mean we have the capability to deliver the majority of our services remotely. We will maintain the ability to service any in-person requirements for data collection, work delivery or meetings. Our consultants are available to speak with you instead of having in-person client meetings. 

 

We are taking this step as a precautionary measure to ensure that we look after our people and our clients. We also have in mind the benefits to the broader community. In all of the circumstances, we believe this is the right thing to do at this point. 

 

We will continue to monitor and review how we’re responding and delivering services to our clients. During these unprecedented times, we are guided by two priorities: ensuring safety and health while minimizing disruption to our clients. 

 

Below are some of our tips for effective distributed working: 

  

1) Keep the team connected and in sync 

  • Start the day with a quick video conferencing call.  
  • Share a quick ‘wrap up’ at the end of the day. 
  • Provide regular updates to the whole team to ensure everyone feels connected. 

 

2) Ensure your workspace is conducive to working 

  • To be productive, you need an office environment that allows you to comfortably work and stay focused. 

 

3) Schedule your day 

  • structured routine helps effectively manage tasks and stay on target for deadlines. 
  • A short planning session in the morning to map out your day can be very effective. 

 

4) Track your time 

  • Be aware of how much time is spent not working & keep a record of your times 
  • What are you spending that time doing and how much does it detract from your work goals? 
  • Avoid checking personal email or social networking sites during work hours 

 

5) Stay connected 

  • It’s easy to lose contact. Check-in with your immediate colleagues and team regularly throughout the day. 
  • Don’t forget family and friends. Set aside time or use your breaks to call or email close contacts and stay in the loop. 

 

6) Take regular breaks and remember to exercise 

  • Respite from your desk is important, especially when you’re confined to your home. Schedule regular breaks. 
  • Staying active can be a challenge when you’re in a confined space, especially cardio. Exercise is a known aid in helping with the symptoms of isolation so be sure to stay active. Incorporate stretching, yoga, dips, lunges and natural resistance exercises to stay active.
